The Shannons Southern Coffee Cruise in Eaton, near Bunbury, Western Australia, delivered another fantastic morning of classic cars, tough street machines and unique builds. BAD Q Garage headed south to check out the action and discover what local enthusiasts had brought along.
From blown V8 Commodores and classic Ford Falcons to custom panel vans, Mustangs and American muscle, there was something for almost every motoring enthusiast.
Shannons Southern Coffee Cruise in Eaton
Held in Eaton, near Bunbury WA, the Shannons Southern Coffee Cruise is a popular regular gathering for car enthusiasts from across the South West.
Rather than focusing on one particular make or era, the event attracts an impressive mixture of vehicles. Classic Australian Holdens and Fords were parked alongside American muscle cars, European classics, Japanese favourites and heavily modified street machines.
It makes the Coffee Cruise a great opportunity to see cars you might not normally find together at the same event.
Blown V8s and Tough Street Cars
There was certainly no shortage of horsepower.
Several supercharged and turbocharged V8 builds caught our attention, alongside tough Commodores and other modified Australian street cars.
These cars demonstrated just how diverse the WA modified-car scene has become. Some were built primarily for performance, while others combined serious horsepower with impressive presentation and street usability.
Classic Holdens, Falcons and Panel Vans
Australian classics were also well represented.
We found a great selection of classic Holdens and Ford Falcons, along with some fantastic custom panel vans.
Panel vans remain an important part of Australian motoring culture, and it was great to see enthusiasts continuing to preserve and modify these iconic vehicles.
Whether you prefer an original cruiser or a completely customised build, there was plenty worth checking out.
Mustangs and American Muscle
Fans of American cars weren’t forgotten either.
The event featured Ford Mustangs, big-block American muscle and other US classics, including cars that were clearly built to be driven rather than simply displayed.
One standout was a daily-driven Mustang with an incredible 400,000 kilometres on the clock. It was a great reminder that classic cars don’t have to spend their lives hidden away in a garage.
Rare and Original Classics
Among all the modified machinery were some remarkably original vehicles.
One of the more unusual discoveries was an original Willys Jeep, providing an interesting contrast to the blown V8s and highly modified street cars surrounding it.
Finding vehicles like this is one of our favourite parts of attending local car shows and cruises. You never know what might arrive next.
Supporting Variety WA
The Shannons Southern Coffee Cruise isn’t only about bringing together great cars and their owners.
The event also helps raise funds for Variety WA, supporting an important cause while giving Western Australian motoring enthusiasts another reason to get their cars out and enjoy them.
It’s a great example of how the local automotive community can come together around a shared passion while helping others.
